DIY-Project: Mouse Pad for Sim Racing Rigs
Today’s DIY project is a simple yet practical mouse pad for aluminum rigs. It attaches with two screws and provides a surface area of 16 x 16 or 20 x 20 centimeters for a mouse.

Printing and Mounting
For this DIY project, all you need is a 3D printer with a build plate large enough to fit the project. It’s a good idea to print the first layer as cleanly as possible so that mouse movements are detected reliably. Support structures are generally not necessary, unless you want particularly clean holes for the screws.
For mounting on the rig, you’ll need two M6 hex socket screws with a maximum head diameter of 11 millimeters. The length depends on the rig. Here (Simlab P1X Pro), 16-millimeter-long screws and matching slotted nuts were used.
