Compatibility and QR
The GT ONE Steering Wheel can be powered either directly via a PXN VD Base or using the USB coiled cable. When connected to a PXN Base (the VD10 Base was used in this test), the steering wheel receives power and data directly via the QR connector included in the package, in the proven NRG style. It is then not necessary to use the included USB cable. Thanks to its modular design, the QR can be removed with just four screws and replaced with an alternative solution (50.8mm). If you want to use a QR with a 70mm bolt pattern, you can either use your own spacer or the PXN Z QS Quick Release Adapter, available from PXN for around 25 euros. The included coiled cable is then plugged in below the QR and connected directly to the PC or a hub.

Features
Below is an overview of the wheel’s features.
Inputs
For a steering wheel in the 200-euro price range, the PXN GT ONE offers a wide variety of usable input options on the front. These should be more than sufficient for the vast majority of use cases.
- 12 Buttons: Six illuminated buttons are located on each side, featuring a short, crisp actuation point and semi-transparent plastic caps.
- 3 Rotary Switches: In the center of the wheel are three rotary switches, each with twelve positions. These can be configured independently so that each click produces a separate output, or so that the respective rotary switch behaves like a standard encoder (+/-) The actuation force is in the mid-range due to the selected combination of switches and caps,
- 2 thumb Encoders: The two thumb encoders, equipped with non-slip aluminum caps, offer two additional, easily accessible input options within the thumb area, for example for brake balance and similar functions.
- 2 Funky Switches: Also within easy reach of the thumbs, a practical Funky Switch with plastic caps is located on each side. These each have seven functions (rotation left and right, press, up, down, left, right).
Given the price range, both the selection and quality of the inputs can be described as very good overall. In this regard, the Wheel holds its own against steering wheels that are, in some cases, significantly (!) more expensive.

Paddles
On the back of the wheel are four pre-mounted paddles, each consisting of a black anodized aluminum housing and grip surfaces made of forged carbon. The grip surfaces can be adjusted laterally via slotted holes in combination with a guide rail, and their cleanly rounded edges give them a very comfortable and high-quality feel.
- Shifters: The two shifters are excellent. They are crisp, have a well-chosen travel distance before engagement, and the magnets provide a pleasant amount of resistance. Additionally, they are minimally damped and therefore not
- Analog Paddles: Below the Shifters are two analog axes that operate via a combination of springs (for resistance) and Hall sensors (for signal transmission). The resistance is slightly stronger than, for example, on the paddles from Ascher Racing and falls in the middle range of all tested wheels. The maximum travel, on the other hand, is unusually long, and the axes can be retracted almost to the height of the grips. The latter is definitely a matter of taste, though an optional earlier end stop would have been a nice addition.

LEDs
The GT ONE from PXN features a series of controllable RGB LEDs:
- 12 RGB LEDs – Buttons: Each of the built-in buttons can be controlled individually and is equipped with semi-transparent plastic caps. Without the stickers, the LEDs are visible in the center; with the stickers, the lighting is more even. There are a total of 26 different stickers to choose from (six of each), though they can be a bit fiddly to apply. The quality and selection of the stickers could certainly be better here.
- 3 x 12 RGB LEDs – Encoders: Each encoder features twelve individually controllable LEDs. This makes it possible, for example, to highlight the currently selected position in color.
- 15 RGB LEDs – RPM: In the upper section of the wheel, 15 RGB LEDs are seamlessly integrated into the housing. Thanks to a well-designed light path, they are clearly separated from one another.
The colour and brightness of all LEDs can be adjusted.

Grips and Materials
The PXN GT ONE features a frame made of glass-fiber-reinforced composite as the main material of the wheel, with an exterior finished in a forged carbon look. Inside, PXN has installed a neatly integrated circuit board with pre-installed components. The grips are coated with technical TPE, which, according to the manufacturer, ensures maximum grip and durability. Using a hardness tester, we measured a hardness of around 70 Shore A. This places the PXN GT ONE between the CONSPIT 300 GT and the McLaren Artura Wheels from Ascher Racing. The grips have a comfortable thickness and therefore feel good in the hand even during longer sessions.
Overall, the choice of materials for a wheel in this price range is good to very good. The wheel, which weighs approximately 1,500 grams including the QR, can be used without any issues with the most powerful PXN base currently available (VD10 with 10 Nm). In terms of stability, it is subjectively slightly behind a KS Pro from MOZA or a Simagic GT Neo, though these wheels are also nearly twice as expensive.

Software
PXN
The official PXN SimRacing software from PXN is required to operate the wheel. This software allows you to create various profiles and use telemetry data from different simulations to control the wheel’s LEDs. Several updates have already been released during the testing period, and the current version of the software (V1.6.3) runs reliably and stably. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the logic behind saving profiles. It’s best to save your work frequently, for example, when making extensive changes to RPM profiles.
- Button Settings: Here you can configure the modes of the three front-panel encoders independently of one another.
- Telemetry Settings: Here, the color and timing of the RPM LEDs can be configured individually (a separate setting per gear is not yet possible). Additionally, a pit lane alert can be activated. In the Telemetry Feedback section, effects for TC, ABS, DRS, and the yellow flag can be assigned to any buttons. These will then flash accordingly when activated.
- Paddle Settings: In this window, the two analog paddles can be configured either as a dual clutch, two separate axes, or buttons. Additionally, the paddles can be recalibrated if necessary (which was not required during the entire test period).
Overall, the software already makes a good impression. However, it still needs some fine-tuning for specific settings. Thanks to the SimHub integration, these adjustments are already possible.

SimHub
Through SimHub mode, PXN allows you to control the steering wheel’s LEDs via SimHub. To do this, simply select “SimHub” mode. The steering wheel can then be added directly thanks to official support. There, you can create separate profiles for the LEDs and RPM LEDs as usual. PXN ships the steering wheel with default profiles. These can be used as a starting point for your own customizations.

Driving Impressions
Conclusion
The GT ONE from PXN is undoubtedly the manufacturer’s new go-to wheel and stands out clearly from the other wheels in its lineup. For its low price, it offers a wide range of inputs, four paddles, comfortable grips, and wireless operation via a PXN base. Thanks to its SimHub compatibility and the included USB coiled cable, the wheel is also very appealing to budget-conscious sim racers with wheel bases from other manufacturers who are looking for a good Formula wheel in the under-250-euro price range.
