MOZA Racing Lamborghini Revuelto Steering Wheel – Review

Following the release of a truck wheel and various high-end wheels, MOZA Racing now offers a steering wheel modeled after a supercar. The MOZA Racing Lamborghini Revuelto Steering Wheel was developed in collaboration with Lamborghini and is officially licensed. It measures 340 millimeters in diameter, is based on the original CAD data, and has been specifically adapted for use as a sim racing wheel.

Ordering and shipping

As of the publication of this review, the steering wheel is already available for order directly from MOZA Racing, though other retailers typically follow suit shortly thereafter. Depending on the shipping destination, additional costs for shipping and taxes may apply; the following prices are listed:

$399,00 / 429,00 € / £379,00 / AUD 729,00 / JPY 65.900,00

The product tested was provided by the manufacturer for the duration of the review. At no point was the content of this review influenced.

Scope of delivery

There are no major surprises when it comes to what’s included. Inside the stylish Lamborghini-themed packaging, there are no additional accessories besides a sheet of decorative stickers (the wheel itself doesn’t come with any) and a quick start guide

Compatibility and QR

When it comes to quick release, it’s business as usual. The familiar QR in the NRG design is used here, which allows for operation without an additional cable when mounted on a MOZA wheel base. Power and data are then transmitted directly through the base via contacts inside the quick release. The connection remains as stable as ever, and the steering wheel can be attached to or detached from the base in a fraction of a second.

If you want to use the steering wheel with a base that isn’t from MOZA, you can use the optional MOZA Hub. This allows the steering wheel to be operated on any base via a coiled cable.

Due to its large diameter (340 millimeters) combined with its comparatively high weight (approx. two kilograms), the base should be sufficiently powerful. The MOZA R3 or R5, for example, would be significantly too weak unless you’re satisfied with very low FFB forces. A base rated at 10 Nm or higher is the minimum requirement for the Revuelto Steering Wheel.

Features

MOZA has adopted a two-part design concept for its features. On the front, the features of the steering wheel installed in the actual car have been faithfully reproduced in high quality. On the back, however, MOZA’s influence comes into play. Here, practical additional buttons and a total of four paddles ensure that the steering wheel is also suitable for use as a sim racing wheel and doesn’t remain merely a display piece.

Authentic Replication of the Revuelto Steering Wheel

Developed using original CAD data for a true-to-life replica. With a 340mm diameter and ergonomically designed grips, it mirrors the look, feel, and layout of the real wheel. Every button, knob, and tactile feedback mechanism—down to the iconic pressable rotary switches—has been faithfully recreated for an immersive, real-car experience.

Inputs

Here is an overview of the features that make the Revuelto Steering Wheel stand out among sim racing wheels:

  • 12 Front Backlit Buttons: The front panel features a total of twelve backlit buttons with a very short travel distance. Not only do they look like those in a real car, but they also feel exactly the same when operated. This greatly enhances the wheel’s authenticity and significantly reinforces the sensation of sitting in a real vehicle.
  • 4 Self-Centering Rotary Encoders: A key design feature are the four built-in rotary encoders, which use a spring mechanism to return to their starting position when turned left or right, distinguishing them from most conventional encoders with continuous rotation. They are made of plastic and each feature an additional illuminated push-button on top.
  • 10 Rear Buttons: Behind the paddle shifters on both sides, there are five additional small buttons on each side. These are arranged in a cross-shaped pattern, with an additional button in the center of each. They are easily accessible with the index or middle finger and are ideal for in-game menus, for example. This provides more than enough buttons for use as a sim racing wheel without compromising the design of the real wheel.

By combining the buttons on the Real Wheel with additional buttons on the back, MOZA has found a very elegant way to seamlessly blend functionality and design. We will likely see similar solutions in future replica models adapted for sim racing.

Paddles

MOZA has also made a sensible departure from the original steering wheel when it comes to the paddles, installing a milled aluminum paddle module on each side, each consisting of a shifter and an analog axis. Both are equipped with contactless Hall sensors; the magnetic shifter has a pleasant actuation point without being too loud, and the analog paddle, which features a comparatively short travel, also performed well in testing. Carbon (3K twill carbon) is used for the grip surfaces themselves, which are very easy to reach thanks to the curved pedal arm.

LEDs

Unlike most other current MOZA wheels, the LEDs on the Revuelto Steering Wheel are limited to the buttons on the front. Their brightness can be adjusted, and, just like in a real car, they can be set to a permanent white glow if desired.

Steering Wheel Rim and Materials

When it comes to the materials used, MOZA Racing has opted for a good compromise, just as it did with the inputs. Unlike the original, this model uses significantly more plastic (front plate/casing) but the steering wheel is still more than sturdy enough thanks to its metal frame. For the steering wheel rim, MOZA uses high-quality microfiber leather that is very neatly stitched, feels premium, and fits comfortably in the hand. Combined with the attractive matte finish of the center section, this creates a very high-quality overall impression without pushing the steering wheel into the over-1,000-euro price range. The only exception would be the rotary knobs, which stand out as design elements; here, aluminum caps could certainly have been used.

Software

The Wheel can be configured using MOZA’s proprietary software (Pit House), which is clearly organized into two subpages:

  • Analogue axes: These can be configured as dual axes (for example, for a dual clutch with an adjustable bite point), as shared axes, or as standard buttons.
  • Lighting: Here, you can configure the brightness and idle behavior of the illuminated buttons on the front panel.

In addition, you can assign various shortcut functions using keyboard shortcuts.

Driving Impressions

Conclusion

For around €429, the MOZA Racing Lamborghini Revuelto steering wheel offers an excellent balance of price, authenticity, and build quality. The front panel is made of plastic, while the steering wheel impresses with a sturdy aluminum frame, high-quality microfiber leather on the rim with clean stitching, and premium 3K carbon fiber elements on the paddles. All in all, this creates a very high-quality overall impression without the price drifting into the premium range. Particularly noteworthy are the practical buttons on the back, the excellent paddles, and the design, which is unique for a sim racing steering wheel. However, with a weight of around two kilograms and a diameter of 340 millimeters, the wheelbase should definitely be capable of at least 10 Nm of torque to make the steering wheel truly enjoyable.

Overall, it is currently one of the best and most affordable officially licensed supercar replicas on the market. It is perfect for anyone looking for a genuine Lamborghini feel with solid sim racing functionality at a fair price, or who simply wants to drive road sports cars in the virtual world on a regular basis.
