MOZA Racing HMA150 Motion Actuator unveiled

HMA150 Motion Actuator

The HMA150 is a 4-axis motion system (3DOF) that simulates pitch, roll, and heave functions. A key feature is its integrated design: since the control electronics are housed directly in the actuator’s enclosure, there is no need for external 220V control units. This reduces space requirements and simplifies installation compared to conventional systems. MOZA relies on an open interface strategy to enable integration of the system into various third-party cockpits and software environments.

Technical performance characteristics

  • Range of motion: The system offers a stroke of 150 mm at a maximum speed of 300 mm/s.
  • Acceleration: With a load of 250 kg, the system achieves an acceleration of 1G (0.45G at 350 kg).
  • Signal processing: A 600 MHz processor and a 21-bit encoder enable a high resolution of over 2 million steps for precise positioning.
  • Vibration range: The haptic feedback covers a frequency range of up to 150 Hz.

Mechanics and safety

  • Actuation: Power is transmitted via precision ball screws and servo motors specially developed for this application.
  • Material: The structure is made of high-strength aluminum alloy.
  • Power supply: The system operates at a low voltage of 48V (DC), which facilitates its use in private households and commercial environments from a safety perspective.

Specs

  • 150 mm Maximum Stroke: The maximum stroke length of the actuator.
  • 300 mm/s Peak Speed: The maximum movement speed.
  • 1G Acceleration: Acceleration values of over 1G for fast responses.
  • 0-150Hz Vibration: A wide frequency range for haptic feedback.
  • Low Latency Real-time Feedback: Minimal delay for immediate feedback.
  • 48V Low Voltage Safety Input: Safe operation thanks to low voltage input.
  • MOZA Motion Manager Software: Dedicated software for control and configuration.
  • MOZA AI Motion Supported: Support for AI-assisted motion sequences.

Prices and release date

No information is currently available regarding pricing or a potential release date. However, it is anticipated that more details will be provided at major trade shows this year (Gamescom, Simracing Expo, etc.), similar to the approach taken with recently introduced products.
