Simucube Launch Event – Simucube 3 Wheel Bases, Savu Steering Wheel and Link Wheel Module

Simucube today presented its new Simucube 3 Wheel Bases and the Savu Steering Wheel centred around an equally new technology platform, as part of an launch presentation with an on-site audience.

Simucube 3 Wheel Bases

From November 2025 (Ultimate: 2026), there will be three new wheel bases in the manufacturer’s range, which will follow the old name theme. If you do not already own the Simucube Link, the prices will increase by around 100 euros in each case due to the non-inclusion of the Link:

  • Simucube 3 Sport
    • 15 Nm
    • $ 1399 / € 1236 / £ 1259
  • Simucube 3 Pro
    • 25 Nm
    • $ 1599 / € 1474 / £ 1399
  • Simucube 3 Ultimate
    • 25 Nm
    • $ 3299 / € 3188 / £ 2899

Simucube promises various innovations and improvements, which are reflected in three main areas.

  • Improved Feeling
    • Calibration of control: Each wheel base is to be laser-scanned by Simucube, whereby a “digital imprint” of each individual base is saved in the code. The control system is then adapted accordingly, allowing Simucube to achieve maximum precision.
    • More Detail: Telemetry-based effects (ABS, RPM, Road, etc.) will be used to further refine the details of the wheel bases.
    • Motor: Simucube is installing completely redesigned motors. A new concept is used for the Ultimate Wheel Base, which on paper should achieve better performance with lower power consumption. Instead of an SPM motor, an IPM motor is used.
  • Rock-solid Quick Release: A new quick release is to ensure the connection between the wheels and the new basees. This has an optical data link with the aid of inductive power coupling.
  • Ease of use
    • On the hardware side, a control box is now used, which has various functions: Torque Off, Parameter adjuster, Power On/Off switch, Sleep / Wake-up
    • On the software side, Simucube relies on a revised Simucube Tuner software, which, according to Simucube, simplifies operation.

Simucube Link Wheel Module and new Quick-Release

The Simucube Link Wheel Module, which is intended to allow manufacturers to develop steering wheels that work natively with Simucube’s new technology, was also presented. According to the manufacturer, the module should fulfil the following points

  • Full Simucube Link compatibility
  • Tuner integration for configuration and profiles
  • Future-proof architecture
  • Reliable supply chain
  • Simucube Quality with warranty

However, this also makes it clear that the new QR USB wheel is not supported and that there will be no native USB passthrough via the new QR. In this respect, the new system is therefore proprietary. The first manufacturers such as BavarianSimTec have already been introduced as future partners for the Simucube 3 platform:

  • BavarianSimTec
  • Ascher Racing
  • Cube Controls
  • Delta Sim Technologies
  • P1 Sim
  • SimCore
  • SimRacingBay

Simucube Link and new API

Another innovation is the Simucube Link platform with a predominantly open API. It should enable both simracing simulations and other developers to work seamlessly with the Simucube system. It remains to be seen what projects and advantages this will bring in the future.

Simucube 3 Accessories

The release is rounded off by the newly presented accessories centred around the new wheel bases and the new QR system. One thing is definitely clear: the switch to the new Simucube generation will not be a cheap pleasure. In particular, the new Quick Release with a price of around 175 euros and the extension for just over 200 euros are very expensive.
