Cube Controls Astra steering wheel revealed
Italian manufacturer Cube Controls recently unveiled a new steering wheel at the Sim Racing Expo in Chicago. Priced from around £450, the Astra Steering Wheel is at the lower end of the manufacturer’s line-up. It offers a whole range of features and is available for pre-order now.
Prices and ordering
The new Astra steering wheel can now be pre-ordered both from Cube Controls itself and from some of the well-known distributors. Availability is stated as the beginning of October, shipping costs vary depending on the shop. There are three variants to choose from:
- ASTRA – Base: 487 €
- ASTRA – Premium Black: 547 €
- ASTRA – Premium Blue: 547 €
Two versions and two colour variants
Buyers have the choice between two variants. The basic version is supplied with “Standard Switches, Knobs and Standard Thumb Encoders” and uses transparent stickers for the illuminated buttons. In the Pro version, the knobs are replaced with CNC-milled versions (each in black or blue) and the buttons are tinted. A hub is also supplied, which may be necessary depending on the QR solution used. The Astra Wheel has a diameter of 295 millimetres and weighs 1,150 grams including the hub. It is fully compatible with SimHub and, like its predecessors, relies on the familiar magnetic USB connection from Cube Controls.
