DIY Project: Driver Numbers for Aluminum Profiles (Sim Rigs)

Some sim racing manufacturers have started to offer customisation options in response to popular demand from the community. This mini DIY project picks up on this and offers the option of customising the sim rig with your own start number.

Materials required

No tools or other materials are required for this mini project. All you need apart from a 3D printer is filament in the colour of your choice.

The print itself is also more than unspectacular this time. Thanks to the simple shapes and printing without the need for supports, there should be no problems with adhesion to the print bed or other difficulties. Approx. 5g of filament is required per digit and you should allow approx. 5 to 20 minutes depending on the print profile.

Installation

For mounting on the rig, the individual digits are simply pushed into the side of the aluminium profile. Depending on the rig, it may be necessary to remove the side cover caps beforehand. As long as no motion rig is used, no additional fastening is required.
