Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision Gran Turismo revealed
With the CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, Fanatec presented a steering wheel at this year’s Simracing Expo in Dortmund that Fanatec users have been asking for for a long time: An affordable alternative to the McLaren Wheel in the CSL Elite budget series.
Features
The wheel, which measures around 30 centimetres, immediately catches the eye with its striking shape and is a replica of the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo from Gran Turismo 7. It is equipped with a combination of buttons, encoders and a joystick and offers several other features:
- Display on the bottom right
- Joystick (with Fanatec logo)
- Porsche logo as button for the tuning menu
- Two buttons integrated in the handle
- A total of six rotary controls
- Six normal buttons
Fanatec showed the wheel at the expo with a pre-assembled QR2 Lite. However, it has not yet been communicated whether this will later be included in the scope of delivery. The manufacturer is also installing magnetic shifters with Hall sensors in one of its steering wheels for the first time in the CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision Gran Turismo.
Prices and availability
Fanatec has not yet provided any more precise information on the release of the new steering wheel. A hot candidate for this is of course Black Friday 2024, which has regularly been used for new launches in the past.
No more precise figures have yet been published on prices either. While many Expo visitors gave estimates of between 500 and 700 euros, it can be assumed that Fanatec is likely to remain (significantly) below 500 euros with the new wheel from the CSL Elite series.
As soon as the steering wheel is available from Fanatec, we will report on it here!
Pictures of the wheel
Here are a few more pictures of the wheel from this year’s Simracing-Expo, where the wheel could be tested in public for the first time.
