BavarianSimTec: Alpha Steering Wheel starting at 949€ now available

BavarianSimTec, the German sim racing manufacturer, has launched its third steering wheel on the market. After the Omega ONE and the Omega Pro, both of which are equipped with a display, the Alpha Steering Wheel is the first steering wheel without a display to be offered at a price starting at 949 euros.

BavarianSimTec Alpha Steering Wheel

The new steering wheel from BavarianSimTec has an aluminium housing and silicone grips with a hardness of 60A Shore. With a diameter of 295 millimetres, it still only weighs 1250 grams (Standard) or 1350 grams (Advanced) and is equipped with illuminated buttons and additional RGB LEDs. You can choose between the standard model with magnetic shifters and the Advanced version with additional analogue axes and two additional paddles above the shifters.

Unique features

To give the steering wheel a certain unique selling point, BavarianSimTec has come up with two nice features:

AdaptiveBeamTec: In iRacing, the two upper encoders offer the option of dynamically displaying the labelling of ABS and TC. This allows you to see for each car which settings should be used for rain or dry track and which option is currently selected.
Multi-link selector: The lower encoder also offers a small plot twist. By pressing and then turning it, you can choose between eight different modes, which can then be switched through by turning the encoder as normal. This gives you various setting options in a centralised location.
