Fanatec QR2, QR2 Pro and QR2 Lite now available
Fanatec has just gone live with the new QR2s and they are now available on the website. Somewhat surprisingly, the QR2 is now available in three variants:
- QR2 Lite
- QR2
- QR2 Pro
While the QR2 Lite and QR2 replace the respective current models, the QR2 Pro is a premium variant for operation in both simracing and real motorsports.
Prices and variants
As already mentioned, the QR2 will be available in three variants, which start at around 60€ + shipping:

QR2 – Base Side
The new QRs are of course not compatible with existing mounts of the CSL DD and DD1 / DD2. Accordingly, a new mount is also needed. Fanatec therefore now also offers two versions: A Type-C version for the CSL DD and a version for the DD1 / DD2 (Type-M).

Compatibility
Fanatec will completely replace the QR1 with the new QR2 over the next one to two years. Accordingly, many of the products are backwards compatible during the transition phase.
Once Fanatec Wheel Bases ship with an exchangeable QR2 Base-Side by default, and your QR1 Steering Wheels are either not upgradable or you do not wish to upgrade each wheel, you will be able to replace the QR2 Base-Side with an optional QR1 Base-Side accessory (available during the transition period). Once downgraded to QR1, the Wheel Base will support all compatible QR1 Steering Wheels.
If your Wheel Base uses a non-exchangeable QR1 connection, for example the CSL Elite Wheel Base + or ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5, Steering Wheels with QR2 can be downgraded by fitting a QR1 Wheel-Side (available during the transition period).

QR1 reduced in price
After the launch of the QR2, the price of the QR1 was adjusted accordingly. It now costs 49.95€ + instead of 99.95€ and is thus available at a very attractive price for the transition period.
