Somewhat surprisingly and without much prior announcement, the new Thrustmater TH8S shifter can now be pre-ordered from Amazon at a price of 69.99€.

Designed for the desk, console compatibility

The Thrustmater TH8S Shifter is primarily designed for mounting on a desk. For this purpose, a tool-free bracket is supplied that is designed for table tops with a thickness of between 0.1 and 4 centimetres. Thrustmaster supplies both a USB-A to USB-C cable for use on a PC and a cable for connection to a Thrustmaster base. The latter, in combination with a matching wheelbase from the manufacturer, ensures console compatibility with all common systems:

Price and availability

The Shifter is now available on Amazon and can be pre-ordered at a price of 69.99€. Amazon specifies 27 July 2023 as the availability date. The Shifter should also be available in other online shops and presumably in bricks-and-mortar shops shortly. Prices are therefore likely to move relatively dynamically as a result

Technical data

Weighing only 600g, the shifter follows Thrusmaster’s colour scheme and is finished in black with a red accent ring. With dimensions of 220 mm x 130 mm x 240 mm, the shifter is definitely on the more compact side and will probably find a place on any desk.

First tests will show to what extent the model will be able to follow the success of its predecessor (Thrusmaster TH8A). The significantly lower price should make the Shifter very interesting, especially for beginners.
